8 Things to Do Instead of Spending Money

"I'm broke AF bruh."
"Lingling has no chaching."
"If I hadn't bought this sh*t, I'd still have (enter a good amount of money here)."
After twelve months of shopping less often and finding other stuff to do, I've discovered ways on how to have fun without spending too much. I've searched all over Pinterest and Thought Catalog for other fun activities to do and they suggested:
- PLANT SOME FLOWERS IN YOUR GARDEN. - I do not own a garden.
- HAVE A MOVIE MARATHON WITH YOUR FRIENDS. - My friends and I have schedule conflicts. #sad
- VISIT A LOCAL BEACH. - whut.
- DANCE IN THE RAIN. - NO.
- HAVE A GARAGE SALE. - Garage sale is not a thing here in Manila.
- and many, many more!
Often times, I find lists that have 100 suggestions. However, due to where I live and the rules implemented by my parents, I only find 20 (or less) activities to be applicable to do.
So if you're looking for activities that don't require spending money and forcing people to spend time with you (even though you're an awesome human being), here are 8 things you can do instead.

Watching series can make time fly so fast to the point that you eat meals at the wrong time, forget to take a bath, neglect all the living humans around the house, and lose track of your priorities. BUT, if you have nothing to do and you are really bored, THIS is the perfect activity to do.
TIP: Prepare food before starting your journey. Pop some popcorn in the microwave, make some cold coffee, fry some chicken nuggets, boil a pack of ramen, and the list of unhealthy food goes on.
I CANNOT EMPHASIZE HOW FUN THIS IS... even though I suck at playing.
If you're looking for something more interactive to do instead of just staring at the TV/laptop all day, then playing online computer games must be for you! There are a lot of websites that provide free online games such Steam, Garena, etc. But really, go to PewDiePie's Youtube channel for more suggestions. I ain't a pro bruh.
I am definitely NOT a pro at cooking, but I highly suggest you fry your own chicken nuggets (is Joline serious???) But seriously, think of all the money you can save by cooking your own food instead of picking up takeouts. It's a lot cheaper and if you're living with your parents, the ingredients are FREE. Besides, it's always nice to experiment and mimic those short-clip cooking videos commonly found in FB newsfeed.
Some people find working out to be fun and some don't. Exercising helps the brain to release "happy hormones" known as endorphins, which reduces the perception of pain. Allowing your body to exercise has been proven to reduce stress and improve sleep. There are a lot of Youtube channels that provide free workout videos that can be done at home. While for those who love to dance, you can also search for choreography tutorials. Or play Just Dance.
Oh yes, I love this! Even if I have no agendas or whatsoever, I practice applying makeup on. Trying on different makeup looks, learning different techniques, or even just watching it can be entertaining. And who knows when you'll need to glam yourself up for that next party you're going to.
A lot of organic skincare can be made from your kitchen. Oatmeal masks are great for softening and hydrating the face. Avocado contains healthy the fat the makes hair shinier and silkier. Lemon is good for bleaching some dark spots found in your body. Sugar can be used a body scrub to remove all those nasty dead skin cells. AND IT GOES ON. With these raw, organic ingredients, you are 99% sure that what you're applying on to your skin is harmless and free from toxic chemicals.
TIP: Create a playlist for this activity.
This is probably the least fun activity to do but hey, someone needs to deal with that pile of dirty clothes and messy desk. It's always nice to have things clean and organized.
Have you heard of BuJo or bullet journal? If not, check out the bullet journal tag at Pinterest. With its endless pages of tasks, goals, and logs, planning agendas and completing goals will be a lot more motivating.
Plan your next gathering, lunch date, shopping day, meeting, and many more. You can also write down short term and long term goals to visualize what you want your future to look like months or years from now.
I hope you try out few of these ideas and be able to save some moolah.
Thank you for reading!
